Burke Group Privacy Policy

Burke Group is committed to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and security of personal information about our clients. Following is how we protect this information and use it in our service relationships.

Information we collect:

Burke Group collects nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive directly from you on applications or other forms
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates or others (for example transactions you initiate with regard to your company’s retirement plan or while you are enrolling in your company’s flexible benefits plan)

How we protect your information

Burke Group has always considered the protection of sensitive information to be a sound business practice and a foundation of customer trust. We employ extensive physical, electronic and procedural controls to address security issues including identity theft, and periodically adapt these controls to changing requirements and technology advances.

Within Burke Group and among our service partners, we restrict access to personal information to those who need to know that information in order to provide products or services to you. Burke Group employees are educated on the importance of maintaining the confidentiality and security of our customers' non-public personal information. Employee access is restricted to those who have a business reason for accessing and who have been trained in the proper handling of that information.

If you are a former customer, we treat your information in the same manner as that of current customers.

Online Privacy

Privacy and security in our online operations are just as critical as in the rest of our business. In addition to the safeguards described above, we also employ the following Internet-specific practices.

Burke Group uses a variety of proven protections to maintain the security of your online session. For example, we make extensive use of firewall barriers, authentication procedures and encryption techniques; and of course we always recommend that users change their PINs upon initial log-in at a minimum. We may also place cookies and similar files on your hard drive for security purposes, to facilitate site navigation, and to personalize your experience on our site.

When you visit Burke Group's Internet sites, we may also collect technical and navigational information, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and average time spent there. This information may be used for things like alerting you to software compatibility issues, or it may be analyzed to improve our Web design and functionality.

Information we may share with third parties

With the exception of the following, we do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law.

We may share nonpublic personal information that we collect with the following entities.

  • Your employer, if your relationship with us is through your employer (for example, through your employer’s retirement plan)
  • Affiliated service providers (for example, your plan’s payment agent if that service is provided by a Burke Group affiliate)
  • Unaffiliated service providers (for example, non-affiliated payment agents; healthcare vendors where we provide enrollment services)
  • Government agencies, other regulatory bodies and law enforcement officials (for example, for tax purposes; for retirement plan distributions)
  • Other organizations, with your consent or as directed by your representative
  • Affiliates, for marketing or promotional purposes. We believe that sharing of nonpublic personal information with affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes enables us to better serve our customers. For example, it allows us to determine our customers’ eligibility for products and services offered by our affiliates and to make our customers aware of those products and services. If you direct us not to share your nonpublic personal information with our affiliates, we will honor that direction.

Third parties are required to protect the confidentiality and security of your personal information and use it only in accordance with our instructions for the purposes agreed.

To Review Your Information

For your convenience, Burke Group offers several options for accessing and, if necessary, correcting your account information. You can review your information by looking at your statements, or by utilizing our automated telephone or Internet services. You may also e-mail, write or call us with your request for information, in which case no information will be exchanged or changed until we have verified your identity.
